At-Home Workouts For Every Fitness Level

“To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear”

Buddha

Did you know that a healthy body is equivalent to a healthy mind? Seriously, when you put your body to work it’ll release endorphins, which essentially makes you feel good. Now, if you’re doing the Chloe Ting challenge, you might feel like hell before you feel good, but the endorphins will do wonders for depression.

Studies show that exercise can treat mild to moderate depression as effectively as antidepressant medication

There are other effects endorphins have on mental health such as anxiety, PTSD, and stress, to name a few. The point is, working out is not only great for your waistline but also your mental health, and that’s what #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth is all about.

I have definitely said this before, but I am not a workout person. Sure, I cheered in high school and college, but after sophomore year, workouts were thrown out the window. I love yoga, I love pilates, but anything else will have me praying for the workout to be over. That being said, I wanted to accommodate my readers who like me, HATE WORKOUTS (especially workout during quarantine). So, I have accumulated a list of easy and fun workouts to keep you up and moving. Here are some no gym workouts for every kind of body (in every kind of place, i.e. your top-floor apartment).

Popsugar Fitness:

Can you ALL stop sleeping on PSF? I know it may seem unconventional, but their at-home workouts kick some serious butt. I have fallen in love with their cardio kickboxing videos because even in a tiny room like my own, I can still do all the workouts. Their workouts can be found on their Youtube Channel, where it’s divided by sections and their Instagram, where they have fun free IG Lives.

Pros:

You would think I work for PopSugar Fitness with the way I promote them, but I just love their workouts. Almost all of their videos have beginners, intermediate, and advanced levels. Therefore, these workouts are really for any and every type of body. Also, there is a large array of workouts from yoga to HIIT.

Cons:

Some of them are not fit for rooms where you can hear every sound downstairs. Some of them also require weights and mats.

Amazon Prime Video

If you are an Amazon Prime member and do not use Amazon Prime Video, you’re slacking. Amazon Prime Video is amazing not only for movies and shows but if you look up workouts, they have a bunch. My favorite free video HAS TO BE Billy Banks Tae Bo Classic. It is a newer take on the at-home cardio kickboxing that ALL OF OUR PARENTS bough in 2001. Prime Video offers many more videos from 10 minutes to over an hour, videos ranging from Zumba to cardio kickboxing. Lastly, and it’s usually included with your annual membership.

Pros:

It is a ton of free workouts available to you just for being a Prime Member.

Cons:

Not all of the videos are free. This is my biggest issue because although you are a prime video member, some workout videos you may have to rent or buy.

Blogilates

Need a Quarantine 14-day workout plan that won’t kill you? The first 7 days are in the photo above, if this sounds do-able, Blogilaties is the workout for you. They have all of the workouts with the most interesting names to keep you having fun during your workout. Also, if you head over to their YouTube Channel, you’ll see workout series FOR EVERYONE (i.e. me- the person who wants to do all her workouts from her couch).

Pros:

They have an apartment workout series, this is going to be so beneficial for people who live in the little shoeboxes that we call apartments.

Cons:

I’ll let you know when I find them.

Chloe Ting

I know, I know. I said this wasn’t going to be about the Chloe Ting Challange, and it’s not. This is about her individual workout videos. If you’re not following the Chloe Ting Wave, she is this Youtuber who works with gymshark but has AMAZING workout programs for free on her website. Her programs are described as literal hell, and if you’re not ready for hell, definitely try out one or two of her videos like my favorite one linked here.

Pros:

What I love about this is that everyone can do it. My brother whose an ex-football player and my sister who is a Mom of 2 both are doing workouts from her channel. This is the most diverse for everyone workout that I have ever seen.

Cons:

Literal Hell. I said what I said. She’ll make 10 minutes feel like 10 hours, okay maybe I’m exaggerating.

If at-home workouts are not for you, that’s absolutely fine. Still, make sure to find ways to keep your body up and moving. It is important to make sure that your mental health does not deterioriate with all that is occurring. Remember, your physical health plays a large part in your mental health, so don’t think working out is only to have a “Hot Body ” Summer. (or winter cus we’re QUARANTINED)

That’s The Pro(TEA)n,

Bri.
