How To Take Control of Your Sundays
With everything that has been going on it has been a little hard to tell the days apart. The only day I can tell apart from the rest is Sunday because that is the one day we don’t get mail. It’s hard, Sundays used to be about brunch or relaxing and preparing for the week ahead. Now it’s just another blob in the days that seem to meld together. Well there isn’t much we can do about it, unless you keep busy, every day will continue to feel the same; and if you don’t social distance we’ll never remember “That Friday Feeling”. However, I do have a few tips for those who WFM or for people who just need some stability to their week. Here is how I take control of my Sundays.
Start Your Morning Off Positive
When I am not out brunching my Sundays are pretty chill. Coming from an immensey Christian background, I am no stranger to Sundays are the day of rest. While most people go to chuch, I start my day with green tea. Not only does it supress hunger, but Green Tea contains the same amountof caffine if not more than coffee. To keep it true to its taste I do not add sugar or milk, let it steep for 4 minutes and I thuroughly enjoy my cup. Tea isn’t really an American thing, but most Brits and any Caribbean person around will tell you that tea is a cure all. So it is a staple in my household.
After tea, I head to my room for some yoga. A few cat/ cows, frog pose, and sun salutation is enough to wake me up but not leave me absolutley winded like a regular workout would.
Plan Out The Following Week
From there I focus on what I had planned for the day, usually meal prepping for the week ahead or laying out clothes and materials you will need for next week. Laying out your clothes in advanced saves you a ton of time in the morning each day and you can take that time to muster the energy to get out of bed. Same thing goes for meal prepping; i meal prep my breakfast and lunch until about thursday and repeat on Wednesday night. While it may seem like a hassel, this saves me so much money so the only thing I’m spending money on is coffee in the morning.
Now that we’re stuck at home, I spend my Sundays meal preppinrg Breakfast and Dinner, as well as going through my planner planning out social media posts, blog posts, and working on my business.
Be Lazy with Purpose.
Once everything is out of the way, I get back to relaxation. God didn’t rest on the 7th day for nothing. This should not be an excuse to lazily walk through the house but really focus on that deep relaxation you won’t be getting during the work week.
I like to end my Sundays with some guided meditation. You can find some on your Amazon Alexa app under skills, Youtube, or Headspace; which is currently offering free meditation services through the pandemic. Although I would like to, I don’t meditate daily because life get;s so busy. Therefore, I use my Sunday evenings to listen to my body and clear my head in preparation for the week ahead.
While my Sundays do tend to be short because I start it late I make sure it all counts because it’s your one day to be purposely lazy. I hope you guys found this beneficial and I hope all my WFM friends are doing all right. Happy Saturday!
Thats The Tea And For Me It’s Green,
