Brunch with Bri: Mother’s Day Edition 👩👧
The Greenhouse Cafe is a lovely restaurant in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn that is accessible by train, bus, or ride-sharing because we don’t drink and drive! It is a great place to go if you’re looking for a cost-efficient way to spoil Mom this Mother’s Day because who says Mommy and me are only for the little ones
My Mom and I came across this place a while back when I came home from school in the summer and would rant about how much I loved to Brunch. For someone who was a first-timer, I wanted to find a cost-efficient brunch that would benefit her just in case she absolutely hated it because we all know not everyone is built for brunch. We honestly were drawn to it because of the brunch price; anyone in New York City knows that a good brunch runs anywhere from $40-$80pp and that’s just entrees and drinks. The Greenhouse Cafe’s Saturday and Sunday Brunch costs you $30pp plus tax and gratuity. What makes this such an amazing deal is the fact that it is a 3-course meal. Yes, honey, you’re getting an appetizer, entree, and dessert with unlimited drinks for $30.00. Ah-Mazing!
If you’re not interested in taking Mommy out for some brunch they are having a Mother’s Day Special for $47 which is 3 course as well and offers options such as Salmon and Lobster.
They also offer a kid’s menu for $21 which also gives the little one’s options with appetizers and desserts as well. However, the Mother’s Day Menu does not say anything about drinks but with food, that good does it really even matter?
My Ratings:
Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is not the kind of place you want to go if you want some chicken and waffle with rum punch, they serve BREAKFAST and its good but healthy too. The best part is that the food is filling, I am a repeat customer of this brunch spot and I have never actually finished all my food (thankfully they offer doggie bags).
Drinks: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Don’t get me wrong the drinks are amazing and definitely strong and you have an AMAZING selection where you can switch between. So if you want a Bellini with your appetizer and a Piña Colada with your dessert you can drink your heart out. However, the only downfall is that they aren’t self-served so you do have to wait for your waiter to come and get you a refill. Depending on how busy it is when you go this may take some time.
Crowd: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Here is the downfall to an amazing place like this; considering the area in Brooklyn that this is located there isn’t much of a diverse crowd. You’ll occasionally get people in their 20’s dining here but it’s mainly an older crowd. Lastly, this is not the type of brunch that will play music so if you are looking for a “jumpin’ spot” this is not where it is at. This is the perfect place to brunch and catch up not brunch and buss a wine.
Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
***If Mother’s Day Brunch isn’t your thing The Greenhouse Cafe is also good for catered events, a quiet meal with friends, or for a drink on a Saturday evening.
